A fantastic introduction to silk dyeing, with this tutorial and kit you will be able to hand dye two unique silk scarves (one long scarf, one twilly scarf) in under one hour.

An historic art form, thought to originate in the 3rd or 4th century BC, silk painting is a unique and delicate art technique. This kit guides you through a basic silk painting technique to produce two hand dyed modern silk scarves to wear or gift. From opening the box, to wearing a finished scarf takes around 40 minutes.

No previous art or craft experience is necessary.

Your tutor Barb is an experienced arts educator who has been dyeing and painting silk for over 30 years. Her designs featuring stylised Australian native plants have been used extensively for visiting dignatory visits, and her range of hand painting silk christening gowns were sold in David Jones.

With clear, easy to follow intructions via video and printing in your kit, you can be confident you will get beautiful finished scarves you will be proud of.

This class and kit also works really well as a group activity, gather some friends or colleagues, put together a nibble platter and get crafty as a group!
