Searching for unique virtual team building activities that will keep you and your colleagues connected? Boost workplace wellbeing and join Yoke Mardewi from Wild Sourdough for an online private sourdough making class.

In this hands-on live streaming class, you'll embark on a delightful and delicious journey with sourdough while you will learn simple mindfulness techniques that can help ease your daily stress with or without sourdough in your hands.

In the wake of a challenging year, many of us have become even more anxious, disconnected or unsettled than we might have been in the past. Thankfully meditation and mindfulness are great ways to help you reduce stress and reconnect with others.

Immerse yourself in the basic sourdough-making process and sink your hands into some soft dough and knead out the stresses of the week. Sourdough bread making is an experience that involves the use of all your senses, the eyes, hands, heart and mind. Sourdough, when made well, is about being in the moment!

Creating bread is a gentle yet powerful form of mindfulness. Spend some quality time bonding with your team outside of the workplace in a fun and relaxed environment in this sourdough mindfulness class, it's one of the best things to do when bored in lockdown!

Following successful careers in Fashion and Finance, Yoke Mardewi took the plunge and decided to work at her first love and passion – the making and sharing of food and in particular, sourdough bread-making.

Yoke runs cooking classes with a specialty in sourdough bread-making. She has written the book ‘Wild Sourdough,’ featured on Western Australian TV, radio and in various food and health websites, newspapers and magazines.

Yoke was also a TedTalk speaker in 2019 running a segment 'Ground Yourself with Sourdough' which touched on the slow, purposeful process of making sourdough and served as a reminder to notice what gives us simple joy - and why everyone needs to find their 'sourdough'.

Her cooking classes are as much about sharing her warmth and passion for life as they are about the joy of food.

Yoke is a member of the Artisan Bakers Association and Slow Food, and is a keen supporter of organic/bio-dynamic farming.

She supports and encourages others to have the courage to pursue their passion in life.

I enjoyed this particular Sourdough class. Yes, the instructions in the manual could use a little rearrangement to help beginners more (would have given 4 stars if just off this) but what I found most invaluable was the help, information and support provided by Yoke outside of the class. Sourdough is difficult! I imagine most people who don't have much experience in the kitchen wouldn't really succeed on their first attempt but Yoke has been very helpful and doesn't make assumptions leading into the class. My previous attempts at self made starters haven't been very good thusfar so getting some her her rye starter is almost a cheatcode to getting decent results. She also very willingly provides contact details and consistently replies to messages and pictures to help diagnose and improve my attempts at sourdough after the actual class.

Yoke was really friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed the class! Only feedback I have is that the written instructions were a bit wordy and confusing.
