The Fox Hole team has more than 30 cumulative years of experience in the world of alcohol. From our CEO who started life with a degree in viticulture (he reckons this just qualifies him to make wine in a bathtub) through to our Head of Hospitality and Head Bartender who have more than 20 years of drinking and service spirits of all kinds (especially focused on whisky and gin).

Good experience host very knowledgable think would have been better if all those at gin experience were sittimg at same table or at least beside each other host would only have to go through detail once and guests would talk amongst themselves

Great staff, lovely ambience, tasty gins and good knowledge about them, delivered with a balance of humor and insight. The layout of the tables and volume of music did make some of the knowledge slightly hard to hear. The offerings were generous and tasty!

Knowledgeable host, some yummy snacks, and a range of different whiskeys in a cool underground bar (I'm not a whiskey drinker but my partner seem to enjoy the differences!).

We really enjoyed our night at the Fox Hole whisky tasting. The evening was run well over the allotted time giving us time to chat between each well explained glass of whisky by a very friendly host. It was a fun night in a great atmosphere.

The host was extremely knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Timing between tastings was great. Disappointed we only received 2 canapés, with so many drinks, one more would have suited better. We had an afternoon seating so had not eaten much before.

Whiskeys were pretty good, a nice variety and the guide was knowledgeable and fun.

The ‘cheese platter’ only had two tiny pieces of cheese, which is a bit of a stretch and they started about half an hour late, yes guests were late but they should suffer for that not the people who show up on time. Pic of our favourite whisky.

Whilst we appreciate the effort put into the evening by the team, service was a let down. For instance, we requested water three times but never got it. Same with ice. Plates removed after the canapes but not replaced with new ones for additional food served later - did not get the plates for a long time even after putting in a request and when the plates finally arrived there was no cutlery . In addition, whilst the team shared the history of the gind, there wasn't much with regards to tasting notes hence the actual tasting experience felt a very light. Normally, tasting notes are provided before each tasting. Also, the team should consider stocking and using the bar on the same floor as it will help them expedite client requests and make the experience more enjoyable.

Did the scotch whiskey tasting on a friends bucks day.
Our host Chris was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the different styles of whiskey.

Very interesting range of whisky with a fun narrative provided around each selection by the host. Nice choice of nibbles are provided to add to the experience. Highly recommended!

I would have preferred being shown the gin we were drinking before we had it. We could then appreciate and understand the gin.

I went as part of a bucks night experience and it was amazing! Our teacher / host was knowledgeable and kept things fun. We were given snacks and food throughout the tasting. Would definitely try out their other offerings!

My partner and I got this tasting class as a Christmas gift and it was awesome! Loved learning about the types of gin and their origins. The instructor was very knowledgeable and courteous. Definitely recommend.

This is a very generous and well organised tasting experience. The venue does two different whisky tastings (Scotch and Japanese) as well as a fine tasting. All three were running when we attended. The "host" is a staff member of the Fox Hole, and not a distributor or salesperson. He was clearly a whisky guy, and more so a scotch guy, and his knowledge and passion was clear. The food was absolutely outstanding - they say canapes, but when we left we were absolutely stuffed. Overall, great location, lovely, knowledgeable staff, no push for additional purchases. Highly, highly recommended. We will be going back, for sure.
