Tyarna Groves

female Women-owned

Hello! My name is Tyarna, and I am an artist (haha... that sounds like the start of a 12 step group meeting!)
I was raised in Western Australia in a creative household, shaped by my mother's influence and creative thinking. I studied art throughout my teenage years and went on to work in education and community settings with people of all ages and abilities.
Six years ago, I packed up my life and moved to South Australia with my partner, Jack, and our 9-year-old son, Marley. We live in an old stone farmhouse overlooking the rolling hills and valleys of Nangkita, just outside of Mount Compass an hour south of Adelaide. We live a simple life, juggling work commitments, home renovations, and creative endeavors while homeschooling Marley. I have recently enrolled in a Diploma of Visual Arts at the Adelaide College of Arts and I am absolutely loving the creative journey and learning environment again.
A couple of years ago Jack asked me what I would do if I could do anything at all, and I told him my dream. The very next day, it all fell into place, like magic.
Jack then singlehandedly (literally) restored the 91-year-old church next to our house. He transformed it from a run-down state back to its former glory and turned it into the rustic art gallery and creative studio I dared to dream about, oozing historical charm and cool creative vibes.
We now provide art classes and social activities for the homeschooling community, and after school art and a teens fashion design program. We also offer creative art experiences, workshops and events for adults who are looking to learn new skills and connect with others.
For those needing additional support or one-on-one mentoring, I am a qualified individual support worker and NDIS provider. I run a tailored entrepreneur creative mentoring program from the studio, guiding participants through the process of developing their unique ideas into marketable products that they then sell at local country markets.
If you are looking for a venue to run your own workshops or classes our creative studio is available for hire at affordable hourly, half day and full day rates, with access to materials and studio equipment.
This all keeps me very busy, leaving me with Sundays... also known as the day of rest, or a day for Church?
Yep, that's right, that's where you will find me most Sundays, at Frog Swamp Gallery with the old church doors open to the community once more.
We welcome all to come and visit us but advise you to check our socials for updated opening times before hand and/or contact us to book a visit at a time that is convenient for you!
We are located just 20 - 30 minutes from everywhere! 3 minutes from the local 'rubbedy dub' and just 3kms down the 'frog 'n toad' from the main drag.
You won't see any flashy neon signs or modern fancy sandwich boards but keep your eye out for our gallery door. You can't miss it, if you do, we will still be here when you are finished exploring.
Let your inner compass guide you, get lost in the serenity and you will find us in good time. Don't forget to breathe in that fresh country air, take in your surroundings and notice the vibrant colours of our natural world.
Oh, and keep an eye out for creatures big and small along the way!
We look forward to seeing you in the gallery and welcoming you into our creative studio.
Livin' the Dream....
