Recent reviews of Watercolour Workshop for Everyday People: Sunrise Balloon
- 5/5 from Jodie Angeleski, attended Nov 2025: Fantastic workshop. I learnt lots while having fun. Highly recommended :)
- 5/5 from Marieh Sarancharkh, attended Oct 2025: Ildy was amazing! We had a great time. We had our hen’s celebration and she was very flexible with us. Some us were beginners and still managed to walk away either some beautiful art work.
- 5/5 from Daphne Lim, attended Sep 2025: Ildy’s watercolour class felt more like painting with close friends than a formal workshop. The hot air balloon sunrise theme was dreamy, and I was so proud of what I made. Ildy was friendly and clear on the steps. I learnt new techniques. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a creative escape.
- 5/5 from Jean Kropper, attended Sep 2025: I thoroughly enjoyed learning watercolour techniques- I have played around with watercolour, but never taken a class before. Ildy was a knowledgeable and delightful guide for our painting. She gave us beautiful paper and top quality paints to work with- what a joy! The venue was a short walk from Central train station, so it was easy to get to. I can happily recommend this workshop!
- 5/5 from Kirsty S, attended Sep 2025: Attending Ildy’s watercolour workshop on Friday evening was the best decision I made all week. She was incredibly patient and encouraging, making the session both enjoyable and accessible for all skill levels. The relaxed, calming atmosphere—paired with a thoughtfully curated playlist—sparked my creativity and helped me fully unwind after a busy week. Ildy provided just the right balance of guidance and freedom, allowing us to explore our own styles while learning new techniques. I left the workshop feeling more confident, inspired, and with a renewed love for painting. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try watercolours or grow their skills in a warm, supportive environment!
Your teacher
I grew up surrounded by making. My dad’s upholstery workshop was my first studio, where I’d spend hours painting, sewing with fabric scraps, and experimenting with whatever I could get my hands on. That early love of play and creativity has stayed with me ever since.Over the years, I’ve explored many different art forms, from painting and sewing to design and craft, and I’m still inspired by the magic of trying something new. Creativity has a way of teaching us to let go, trust the process, and find joy in the unexpected. That’s the experience I love to share in my workshops. Whether you’re picking up a brush, learning a new craft, or simply curious to explore your creative side, you don’t need any experience, just a willingness to play. I create a warm, welcoming, judgment-free space where you can relax, connect, and surprise yourself with what you’re able to make. One of my favourite things is seeing people light up when they realise they are creative, especially those who’ve always doubted themselves. That spark of confidence is why I do what I do.I bring a background in visual arts, animation, and teaching, but what matters most to me is creating meaningful, joyful experiences where you feel supported and inspired. If you’re feeling the pull to try something new or return to something you’ve always loved, I’d be honoured to have you in one of my workshops. Let’s make, laugh, and create something beautiful together.
