What you'll do
Do you have kids who are homeschooled? Sign them up to a woodworking class in Marrickville so they can learn a new skill with Wood Academy!
This is a hands-on woodworking course that runs over four 3-hour sessions held every Thursday afternoon. Students will be introduced to fundamental woodworking concepts with an emphasis on safety, mastering essential tools and crafting practical and fun projects.
This is the first module in a woodworking course for homeschooled kids and will cover safety, theory topics, hand tools, common woodworking joints, reading of technical drawings and project planning.
The course is aimed at high school age students as an introduction to woodworking.
Please note, we require a parent or guardian to be on the premises for the duration of the class if a minor is attending.

- All tools and materials provided, though students wishing to bring their own are welcome.
- Take home any completed work.
What to bring
- Students wishing to bring their own PPE should come with a face mask, safety glasses or goggles and earmuffs or earplugs.
- Closed shoes are a mandatory requirement for all students.
- Those with their own tools relevant to the class should bring them along to get better accustomed to using them, but we also supply all tools if you don't have any.
- We have a kitchen on-site with a fridge and microwave for those who want to bring their own food and there are also takeaway options within walking distance.
