Are you able to confidently chain, single and double crochet?
If yes, then you are ready to embrace your next challenge of crocheting the traditional Granny Square!
Hummingbird Crafts & Gifts invites you to our workshop, where you’ll learn how to read a classic Granny Square pattern. This pattern uses your skills in making chains and double crochet stitches to create a crocheted square through repeated clusters.
Your teachers will guide you through essential Granny Square crocheting techniques in a step-by-step process, encouraging you to ask plenty of questions along the way.
We believe in personalised learning to help you achieve your best.
Once you’ve mastered the traditional Granny Square (of roughly 3 rounds), you may wish to explore other square crochet patterns.
The possibilities are endless—imagine crafting your own halterneck tops, vests, crochet bags, book sleeves and pouches, blankets, bibs, and shawls.
If you’re left-handed, we suggest a private lesson, so please message us directly.

As the owner of Hummingbird Crafts & Gifts I want to share my self-taught love of sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery - especially amongst the young and eager to learn.
I was taught by my grandmother, mother, and aunty; and by the time I was 7, I was successfully embroidering delicate patterns on linen.
To inspire personal joy and a sense of accomplishment, Hummingbird Crafts & Gifts cultivates our natural curiosity to learn how to craft by teaching clearly and simply.
We welcome you to join our group lessons which are limited to 6 people to make your learning carefully guided, achievable, and collaborative.
