As the owner of Hummingbird Crafts & Gifts I want to share my self-taught love of sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery - especially amongst the young and eager to learn.

I was taught by my grandmother, mother, and aunty; and by the time I was 7, I was successfully embroidering delicate patterns on linen.

To inspire personal joy and a sense of accomplishment, Hummingbird Crafts & Gifts cultivates our natural curiosity to learn how to craft by teaching clearly and simply.

We welcome you to join our group lessons which are limited to 6 people to make your learning carefully guided, achievable, and collaborative.

Had the beat class ever!
Vanessa & Lucy are wonderful teachers.
They are calm, encouraging and supportive.
Every step was explained slowly and easy to understand.
Can highly recommend for anyone who is interested in learning the art of Crochet definitely enrol in one of their classes!
I loved it!

I absolutely loved Vanessa and Lucy's crotchet for beginners workshop! They are both very knowledgable, skilled and patient teachers, and I really appreciated how they took the time with each one of us to help us to understand and learn the techniques better
Everything was explained so thoroughly and thoughtfully to us.
I loved how the workshop was capped at 4 people so we were each able to have that one-on-one time with the teachers
It was wonderful to have the crotchet tool and yarn provided for us too.
I really appreciated the amount of thought and effort that went into every aspect of the workshop. I would highly recommend this workshop!

I can highly recommend Vanessa and Lucy’s class. Not only are they lovely ladies, but they are great teachers and were very helpful and patient with my 12 year old son who came with me. He really enjoyed it. We look forward to practicing what we learned and heading back for further tuition. My son is looking forward to making bookmarks for his friends

I attended this workshop with my teenager and it was wonderful! Both the teachers are great educators and were very patient and supportive. The class size was small so everyone had plenty of one on one help and everything was well organized and planned. The teachers were also super generous, proving beverages and a snack and gifting us the crochet hook and yarn we had been working with.
We left feeling energized and enthusiastic for our beginner crochet projects, and really look forward to returning for more instruction. A great learning experience and highly recommended!

I had a great experience attending crochet classes.
The teachers were amazing, displaying a high level of skill and knowledge.
They were also friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming and comfortable learning environment.
The provision of snacks was a nice touch, adding to the overall positive experience. Additionally, the venue was excellent, providing a suitable space for the classes. I highly recommend these crochet classes based on the great teaching and friendly atmosphere. Also, I am happy with my progress and feel confident in my ability to continue practicing and improving my crochet skills. These classes provided a valuable foundation for my crochet journey.

My daughter and I recently participated in the beginners crochet class, and it was a fantastic experience. The instructors were patient and skilled, making the learning process relaxing and enjoyable.
