What you'll do
This hands on workshop guides you through all the need-to-know fundamentals of handcrafted brush lettering. The class begins with learning a set of basic brushstrokes that combine to create a hand lettered alphabet—as well as how to hold and angle the brush pen. After getting comfortable with the basics, the focus then shifts to what makes good lettering, consistency, various styles and embellishments.
These workshops are perfect for those who are creatively curious, keen to learn a new skill or are looking to escape the computer screen for a few precious hours! Brush Lettering is an incredibly versatile style that can be applied to create anything from posters, cards, personal projects, logos and beyond - the possibilities are endless.
Attendees will walk away with an improved knowledge of typography, a new handcrafted skill and a good understanding of technique to practise and improve on after the class. All materials are supplied for this workshop and are yours to take to continue the creative fun at home/in the office.

Your teacher
I'm a Melbourne based Lettering Artist and Designer. For me, lettering is the perfect intersection between design and illustration, digital and analogue. I’ve always been a big believer in all things handcrafted and still love endlessly finessing designs with pencil on paper. I've been teaching Lettering classes for over 3 years and have collaborated with all kinds of brands, businesses and creatives.
Alongside teaching, I create commercial work, exhibit in group shows, experiment with personal work and give the occasional talk on freelancing and creativity. Aside from creating, I’m passionate about experiencing new places, spending time in nature and anything wrapped in pastry.
