Classes are 3 hours long. They are held on Sat- 12-3pm ( 5 week course) and Sun- Thur (6:30pm-9:30pm) 5 Day Course
What experience does the instructors have? Where have they performed? How long have they been teaching?
The founder of the school has 50+ years of stand up comedy experience. He has performed in The USA (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco) and Australia. From 2010-2024 he ran Australia's Largest Comedy School (Aus School of Stand up Comedy) he has trained more than 16oo+ people in ( SA/VIC/QLD/ACT/NSW/WA) the art of stand up comedy, some of which have gone on to open their own comedy schools. He also ran one of Sydney's longest continuous running comedy club from 2008-2020. It was the only club in Australia, selected by Mastercard to participate in their National Priceless Campaign. The club was also the winner of the Pride of Workmanship award from Rotary Clubs Australia
Can beginners take this course? What's the age limit?
Yes, this course is designed for beginners and intermediate. Covering the fundamentals of Stand up comedy with prep for international stages. Because the founder was able to start doing stand up comedy in Las Vegas at the ripe old age of 14 1/2, he knows how important it is to start early and polish your skills early, that's why we have a 15+ age limit. Not only will they be trained, but they will also get to perform in a real club for their graduation with the rest of the graduates

I'm not sure if stand up comedy is for me, what would you recommend and what's your refund policy?
We can recommend several things for you. 1. You could book our online Intro to stand up comedy course for $50 (great way to start without spending a fortune) plus if you decide later to book our complete industry course for $299.99, you will receive a $50 cashback visa card, making the cost of the online course FREE! You can also purchase our book, "So you wanna be a stand up Comic?-15 things to know before and during your journey" Both of these suggestions are a great way to start and don't cost an arm and a leg. Our refund policy gives you up to 7 days before the start of the course for a complete refund (minus any booking fees). After 7 days, no cash refunds allowed but we are happy to give you credit towards our next up and coming class for the same amount paid.
What's the difference between your 5 day Course and your 5 week course?
Both courses offer the same curriculums, however, the days and times are different to suit your schedule. If you have limited time, want to get started right away and work a 9-5 job during the week, we suggest the 5 day complete course. These courses are held in the evenings, leaving your mornings and afternoons free. If you have a flexible schedule with lots of things to do weekdays, we suggest the 5 week course. It meets once a week on sat afternoons, giving you a week in-between classes to write, rehearse and fine tune your performance.

Las Vegas international school of Stand up comedy

The founder has been training students in Australia from 2010 to 2023. His former school (Aus School of Stand-up Comedy) by 2018 was the largest Stand-up Comedy School in Australia with locations in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, and Brisbane. He has trained over 1600 students across Australia, with some graduates going on to start their own comedy schools, such as Sydney Comedy School and School of Hard Knock Knocks, while other students have gone on to become guest instructors at schools across the country. His curriculum and unique teaching style have produced more award-winning comics and Raw Comedy Competition finalists than any other comedy school in the country. He has over 50 years of experience in the USA (Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles) and Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth Festivals) both as a show promoter and as a stand-up comic performer. His 2017 Adelaide Fringe Show "10 Comics International Laugh-a-Thon show" was voted a "Must See" by BankSA. His graduates have performed in AGT and have made the top 5 finalists in the Raw Comedy finals on TV. His graduates have also performed on Amazon Prime TV (LOL) as well as in every Fringe and Comedy Festival across Australia. He started the Las Vegas International Comedy School in 2016, primarily focusing on training local comics to perform on international stages and the ins and outs of creating, promoting, and selling their own Fringe and Comedy Festival shows. His award-producing Complete Industry Comedy Course covers everything you need to know about performing live as a stand-up comic. He also created a course just for new open mic comics on the scene and also offers private tuition. As an actor, he's had roles in The Matrix Reloaded and The Fat Pizza vs Housos movies as well as TV appearances on Getaway and The Disney Channel. From 2008 till lockdown, he ran the longest consecutively running comedy club in Sydney, producing over 1200 weekly comedy shows. His club was the only club selected by Mastercard to participate in their National Priceless campaign and was the winner of The Pride of Workmanship award from Rotary Clubs Australia. He currently runs 2 comedy clubs in Sydney, The "Catch A Rising Comic" Shows at The Civic Hotel and The Caringbah Hotel, where his comedy school students get free opportunities to perform. The founder "Donte" is also the author of several books including "So you wanna be a Stand-up Comic?-15 things to know before and during" and "How not to lose money with your Fringe and Comedy Festival shows." The Las Vegas International School of Stand-up Comedy is now Australia's largest stand-up comedy school with 6 Australian locations (Parramatta, Surry Hills, Sydney CBD, Adelaide CBD, Canberra CBD, and Melbourne CBD).
