What you'll do

Immerse yourself in a relaxing, creative experience with friends and loved ones — join our tufting art class and craft your own custom rug.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover the art of making a personalised tufted rug using a tufting gun and yarn. Bring an image you'd like to turn into woollen art, and we'll project your design onto the primary fabric.

With over 50 yarn colours at your disposal, you'll watch your vision come to life tuft by tuft as we guide you through the whole process. We'll also show you how to add the final touches, so you can complete your rug and take it home the same day.

How long you're here depends on the rug size you choose at checkout — from around 2-3 hours for a 40x40cm rug up to 5-6 hours for a 90x90cm one. Pick the size that suits the time you have.

If two people would rather share one tufting gun and make a single rug together, that's absolutely fine. Just register as one participant, and we'll only charge for one. A maximum of two people can share a gun.

She gave really helpful demonstrations and guided us on how to use the equipment safety, as well as having shown us the right amount of pressure and technique to use. The class had a lot of yarn colours to choose from and the tools were easy to handle and everything was provided for us to finish our rugs. I chose a 60x60cm rug as my first time tufting and I think it was the correct choice, gave me a lot of freedom for designs and took enough time to get the technical skills done for when I want to make another rug. The place was also really easy to find, which is something I was worried about when I booked the class.

We started by picking a design—they have a great inspiration book, but you can also bring your own. The tufting gun looks a little intimidating at first glance, but it's super easy to get the hang of. Once I started, using the gun was so much fun!

Quite flexible in that you can choose whatever design and colours you want, and although it looks challenging, the gun is pretty easy to use! The teacher was able to guide us for any parts we were unsure about. The method is quite forgiving, my lines were not neat at all but the rug still turned out very well! A really good take home gift and a small class size

The explanations of how to use the tufting gun were easy to understand and the teacher was very friendly and welcoming. The studio is lovely and comfortable. I was left alone most of the time, which was fine later on once I got a handle on it, but a bit more checking in at the beginning would have been good so I could fix mistakes early on. The lift to get to the studio is a bit scary, so if you are very claustrophobic, be prepared to take the stairs as an alternative (and is not accessible if you are in a wheelchair).

We were given a demonstration and once we could use the machine we were left to complete the tufting. Staff were always available to ask for help and would teach us the next step as we needed it. Great class for myself and 14 year old.

4/5 from Lauren Lee, attended Oct 2026: the experience was a lot of fun & we were happy with the finished products! a fabulous creative group activity and supplies provided were great communication prior to the class could be improved. the email confirmation instructions were different to what we were asked for 1 day beforehand. we weren’t given a guide as to what was considered easy and difficult to do until images were submitted and rejected. before confirming final images, there should be mention that changing the final image can be done but will incur a $5 fee. As the organiser pulling together 10 images, it was a bit stressful being the messenger between the students and teacher. The teacher ended up allowing us to change 2 images without a fee which was appreciated but communication overall could be clearer and less blunt

That said, the class could have been better organised. The steps weren’t always explained very clearly, especially for beginners, and the teacher was absent for a large part of the class, so it was sometimes difficult to know what we were meant to be doing next. A bit more guidance and support throughout the session would have made the experience much better. Overall, we still had a great time and loved the finished result, but I think the class could benefit from more hands-on instruction and teacher involvement.

5/5 from Fay Hong, attended Sep 2026: teacher was super friendly, location is great (close to food and drinks) and the tufting itself was fun. keep in mind the tufting gun is quite heavy and it does become quite tiring after a while so it might take longer than anticipated to complete the rug. overall recommend this as it's unique and fun!

The instructor gave us a 5 min demo on how to do the tufting and then we were left for the rest of the 5 hours. Staff were polite, but not particularly enthusiastic or engaging. My rug started falling apart the next day. One of the instructors forgot to glue the back. I have sent the business a message and they have not responded. Wouldn’t recommend, pretty average experience.
