  $1

You can use this technique not only for cake decorations but also for culinary items, such as creating a mashed potato flower arrangement on a dining table.
Ingredients you can use include buttercream, sour cream, mashed potatoes, chestnut paste, or any other ingredient that can form a thick paste. In the video, we are using white bean paste, which is healthier and popular in Asia. White bean paste is also used to make Wagashi - a type of Japanese dessert.
Don't worry if you're new to decorating; this workshop is designed for beginners, and step-by-step guidance will be provided to help you feel confident in your skills.
You will learn how to blend colours and the technique for piping leaves. Written notes are provided on the screen, and you can also contact me if you have any questions.

Hi, I’m Charmie, a cake decorating and edible floral art instructor from Singapore.
I’ve been decorating cakes and teaching cake decorating for many years, with a particular passion for creating delicate, detailed edible flowers and decorative elements.
What I enjoy most is exploring how different ingredients can be transformed into beautiful edible creations. I’m especially interested in working with locally available ingredients and discovering how their natural colours, textures and characteristics can be incorporated into cake decoration and edible floral art.
My classes combine cake decorating techniques with Korean-inspired flower piping, allowing students to explore different ways of creating flowers, textures and decorative details. I work with a variety of edible mediums depending on the project, including bean paste and other ingredient-based techniques.
I’ve taught students with different levels of experience, from complete beginners to those who already have some cake decorating skills. My classes are usually hands-on, online and also hybrid, and I like to explain each step clearly while sharing the small techniques that can make a big difference to the final result.
I believe you don’t need to be an artist or have years of experience to create something beautiful. With the right techniques, guidance and a little practice, anyone can enjoy turning simple ingredients into edible art.
I’m based in Singapore and look forward to sharing my techniques and exploring creative possibilities with students in Australia and beyond.
I hope you’ll enjoy learning, experimenting and creating with me!
