  • 5/5 from Jenna Lewis, attended Oct 2026: Oh my gooossshhh this class is the most fun I’ve had at an art class ever! Ruby blends instruction/direction and freedom perfectly so I felt like I had all the help and tools I needed to get started before I could really enjoy myself and start having fun and experimenting with the clay (which I’ve never experienced at a class before!) The space was so beautiful and unique and you could feel the care in every inch of the room. It was the perfect spot for a Friday night hang with my friends and I’m definitely going back to try the Lino class next!
  • 5/5 from Chloe Walker, attended Oct 2026: Lots of fun, easy to follow class with lots of support if needed! Awesome space and friendly, welcoming vibe.
  • 5/5 from Susan McMahon, attended Oct 2026: I loved this class! The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, creating a space that invites attendees to be present and enjoy themselves. Ruby was a fantasic guide for both beginners (me!) and those who had some experience. She naturally creates a safe space for experimentation and learning. She clearly explained the basic techniques of what we were doing, showed some finished (simple!) examples of what was possible, and then moved around the space to provide guidance and support as needed. There was no "right thing" or pre-designed item to make - it was all about playing and simply creating. She clearly has a passion (and a talent) for helping people find and lean into their own creativity (however nascent that may be!). She was enthusiastic about the creations, gently encouraging us to take risks and just try an idea. She made sure I knew that she could help me fix any problem if something didn't quite go to plan, and helped with inspiration and ideas to embellish my creation. I would highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Merinda Kavich, attended Oct 2026: Had so much fun! Ruby is a great teacher, the space is so welcoming and inspiring. Can’t wait to do another class! Very easy to book online, Art Lounge Studio is so easy to get to - light rail and bus stops are right outside.

Ruby and Dave are a father-daughter duo who, as artists, just wanted a space where they could be creative and leave out their projects without having to worry about spouses and housemates - thus, The Art Lounge Studio was born.
Ruby is a ceramicist mainly, but she loves crochet and collage and sewing - like all artists, a jack of all trades (master of none?) She's been teaching adults and kids for other studios and finally has a place to teach for herself (not the man).
Dave is a lino printer and photographer. He used to own a cafe that he doubled as an art gallery, but really, he just wanted a place to make and learn new things.
