Do you and your family want to hang beautiful and unique hand-blown glass Christmas ornaments on your tree this year? Or give some thoughtful handmade gifts?
At this exciting Sydney workshop, Master Glassblower Mark Eliott will guide you through the process of glassblowing so you and your family, friends, or colleagues can walk away with your very own festive glass-blown ornaments.
This two-and-a-half-hour taster session will cover:
  • The basics of glassblowing and sculpting using an 'oxygen-propane' torch
  • Using both clear and coloured 'borosilicate' glass rods and tubes (you'll learn various types at this workshop!)
  • Techniques such as sculpting, joining, stretching, blowing and colour mixing
  • Safety talk on using the glassblowing torch
  • The chance to make two glass Christmas ornaments
  • Half an hour of kiln time for your pieces to anneal
Perfect for corporate team-building or Christmas parties too! We can host groups of up to 20, with half the group glassblowing at a time (please note sessions over 10 participants require extra time beyond 2.5 hours, so contact us to create a tailored plan for your team). It's also a cosy and festive way to spend an afternoon with your family or friends. This could be a good opportunity for returning students to broaden their skills, too.
