Recent reviews of DIY Kintsugi Christmas Gift Kit: Repair with Gold

  • 4/5 from Kim Pollock, attended Oct 2024: The kit contained everything I needed. Instructions are very basic but enough to do simple projects. I repaired a favourite gift that I had accidentally broken. It turned out great for a first effort!
  • 4/5 from Toni, attended Dec 2023: I unfortunately tapped my dish with the hammer in the centre. I had it wrapped in the chux towel in the kit. It would’ve been helpful to have some clear instructions included as to how to break dish with out it breaking into to many pieces, which mine did. I attempted to glue all the pieces together, it was a challenge for a beginner! I then put the gold powder on and it’s a bit of a mess and I still have on hole in the dish to fill in. But not today, I will clean up gold powder and fill in the hole another day
  • 4/5 from Elizabeth Bennett, attended Dec 2023: Everything needed was in the kit. I liked that it was in a plastic container for storage. I found the instructions a bit basic for clueless beginners and there was no video that i could see. Breaking the little dish was somewhat hit and miss. Mine broke into 5 pieces, my friends shattered. We googled how to break it a bit late. Enjoyable, however, could have been more enjoyable if we had felt more confident with what we were doing.
  • 3/5 from Fiona Seville, attended Dec 2021: Over priced compared to other kits available, but picked this kit as coming from Australia and needed it for Xmas.

With a love of art and teaching sharing this adds so much richness to my world. Changing peoples mindsets and how they see waste. The experience of teaching someone new information and seeing them apply it successfully is a powerful one. It’s a sort of immortality, knowing your expertise and advice has been passed on. It’s also incredibly rewarding to see students achieve great things, work through challenges, show growth, whatever their level. Teaching has shown me that our capacity for growth is limitless. Helping others to become creative thinkers and at the same time to think about sustainability. My biggest achievement is commissioning a piece for the Star Casino Gaming Lounge in Sydney.
