Dive into the world of surfing with our comprehensive 2-hour surf lesson, designed for beginners eager to catch their first waves. This all-inclusive class not only equips you with the essential gear—a high-quality surfboard and a snug-fitting wetsuit—but also provides expert instruction in all the fundamentals of surfing.
What You Will Learn:
  • Ocean Safety: Understand the sea like a seasoned surfer. Our lessons start with teaching you how to read ocean conditions, recognise safe from hazardous waters and know what to do in case of currents or tides.
  • Surfing Techniques: From paddling to popping up, our experienced instructors will guide you through the correct techniques to help you stand up and ride the waves with confidence.
  • Surfing Etiquette: Learn the unwritten rules of the surf, including wave priority, respecting local surfers and how to avoid collisions in the water.
Our professional and friendly instructors are passionate about surfing and dedicated to providing a safe, informative and fun environment. Whether you’re looking to conquer a new skill or simply want to enjoy the thrill of surfing, we've got you covered.
Join us to experience the magic of surfing and start your adventure with the waves!
** If group lessons do not fill up then participants will be rescheduled into a shorter private lesson of 1 hour or 1.5 hour depending upon group size.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 2 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

  • 5/5 from Graham Anthony Kirkby, attended Dec 2025: Our coach was Dan, who was very good. The only problem was he did not have much to work with as myself (Graham) and my friend Ray (Tue. 16/12) were pretty poor students. The lessons were v well communicated, provided us with a really good base to work from. Really good tuition though.
  • 4/5 from Louise Soldet, attended Dec 2025: Amazing spot for beginners, not too much people especially during school holiday :) so conditions were great for a start! A little bit more help would have been appreciated and a bit more time, but teachers were super kind anyway ;)

  • 5/5 from Natalie Banna, attended Mar 2025: My teacher was incredible. He was so supportive and kind, taking the time to run back and forth with each member and explain to them individually what they were doing wrong. He was professional, patient and a great person to have for a first time surfer. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

The weather was perfect, and the crew was friendly and welcoming. They provided all the necessary gear, and the lesson far exceeded our expectations. Dan and Luca were patient, encouraging, and made us feel motivated throughout the session. By the end of the class, we felt confident and excited to keep improving. If you're looking for a professional and fun introduction to surfing, we highly recommend Salty Surf School!
