Hi, I’m Michelle! I am a Sydney-based multi-disciplinary artist and educator, and I use abstract painting and drawing as an interwoven way to dig into, release, and tell stories. My personal creative process is deeply experimental and contemplative; I often find that what my subconscious and spirit have to say is far more interesting than anything planned!For me, art can be an antidote to auto-pilot. It is a way to take a breath from external roles, pressures, and problems, serving as a gentle creative self-care tool. When I am creating through movement and engaging with raw materials, I feel like a part of my soul is being taken care of and restored. While the process itself is deeply valuable, it also beautifully leads to creative results that are satisfying and meaningful.Having reaped the life-changing benefits of this style of expression, reflection, and creative documentation, I am passionate about sharing it with you. I design my workshops to gently combine wellbeing with accessible art education. Together, we explore the interplay of intuitive expression, reflection, and refinement. You will develop a strong grasp of art and design principles while building a sense of agency, self-awareness, and your own personal visual language.My foundational studies of Visual & Performance Arts, a Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney, and my training as an art therapy practitioner have fuelled my advocacy for the therapeutic benefits of artmaking.
