Introduction to Analog Film Photography and Portrait Workshop

Learn a bit about film photography and have a series of film photos taken!

Join me for a unique analogue film experience where you will get to learn and experience the art of capturing moments on a traditional camera. Throughout this experience, you will learn how to operate a vintage film camera, adjust settings, and compose beautiful shots. You will also get a photography session where I will take photos of you! The roll of film you use will be developed in a studio, and you will receive your own stunning scans digitally.
Time frame:
  • ~20-30 minutes for you to experience taking photos
  • ~1 hour of me taking photos of you (INDIVIDUAL/COUPLE/GROUP is available)
Don't worry if you're new to analogue photography – I will guide you every step of the way, making sure you feel confident and excited throughout the experience. Working with tangible materials and seeing your images come to life in the darkroom can be incredibly rewarding and nostalgic.
By the end of the activity, you will have gained valuable skills in film photography and a collection of unique prints to cherish. Immerse yourself in this analogue film camera experience and let your creativity shine!

FAQ

When do I get my digital scans back?
- It will roughly take 3 weeks to 4 weeks (depending on the photo lab and how busy they are). I will also need time to sift through the photos and make any necessary edits eg. cropping, straightening
Can I choose a location other than the Royal Botanic Gardens?
Absolutely! If you do not wish to do Botanical Gardens, you can choose another location within Sydney CBD (for urban landscapes) or Paddington Reservoir Gardens. Just send me a private message!
What should I wear?
Feel free to wear anything! I suggest wearing comfortable shoes as you will be walking a lot.
