Parent Child Pottery Class: Freeform Shaping and Decorating

Let's clay together!

5+ years & Adults     1 hour Class size 1 to 10 guests       $45

Please note that all children and parents attending this class require a booking, even if joining as spectators. This helps us manage numbers and keep the studio space comfortable for everyone.
This family-friendly pottery session offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with your loved ones in a creative and relaxed setting. Whether you arrive with a clear idea or none at all, you’ll be encouraged to explore your creativity through freeform shaping and colourful decorations!
Bettina will demonstrate a range of hand-building and mark-making techniques, offering gentle guidance as you shape your clay into pots or unique sculptural pieces. After shaping, you will use coloured liquid clay to add finishing touches to your work.
You will leave your work for glazing and kiln-firing and your finished piece will be ready for collection approximately two weeks after the class. Your booking includes glazing and kiln-firing for one piece per person, as long as it is no taller than 15 cm and no wider than 20 cm. Firing of larger pieces is subject to available kiln space and may incur an additional cost.
What you'll get
  • Connect with your loved ones through clay and creativity.
  • Make unique, colourful ceramic pieces.
  • Glazing and kiln-firing are included in your booking.

I’m a clay therapist offering somatic therapy and mindfulness-based pottery classes in a calm and welcoming studio.
Before finding my way to clay, I spent several years in academia, completing a PhD in psychology and teaching at university. I began working with clay as a hobby, and over time, what started as a personal mindfulness practice evolved into a professional calling, leading me to train as a Clay Field® therapist.
As well as open classes, I offer private sessions that can be tailored to your needs—whether you're looking for therapeutic support or simply a creative experience to share with family or friends.
