Hand Building Sgrafitto Workshop for Adults

In this workshop you will be guided through handbuilding techniques using molds and learn the art of sgraffito

This short pottery course introduces sgraffito, a layered art technique where designs are created by scratching through a surface to reveal contrasting colours beneath.
You will learn how to use moulds, and basic tools, methods and design approaches while creating your own expressive sgraffito artwork inspired by both historical and contemporary examples.
Beginners are welcome. You'll receive help and guidance from your teacher so you can be proud of what you make.
Adults only | Limited spots
* Up to 2 items are included in this workshop. one coaster and one plate or bowl. Any additional items can be glazed and fired at a small cost which is payable on the day.
We require a minimum number of enrolments to run the class. In the event that the class does not reach minimum numbers, we will cancel and reschedule your booking.
* We will glaze and fire your artwork in approximately 5 weeks. Once they are ready we will contact you to let you know suitable times for collection. We cannot store artworks for longer than 6 months due to space limitations. After this time all uncollected works will be donated.
* The utmost care will always be taken with your precious artworks. Occasionally, ceramics crack or break in the firing process. We cannot accept liability under these circumstances.
