Whoever said crochet is only for grannies? Beginners Crochet is one of our most popular classes and is such an easy craft to get started in. We provide everything you need to get started including a crochet hook and a ball of yarn, so all you have to bring is yourself and a little bit of patience!
Students will learn basic crochet techniques, some of the most common stitches and how to read crochet patterns. Put all these together and you will start your first basic granny square! Find out about different types of yarn, crochet hooks and where to find crochet patterns. Classes are small, intimate and hands-on so you will get the most out of your time.
This is a beginner-friendly class kept to a small size so you have plenty of time to ask questions and learn from your teacher.
This is an adult’s workshop, suitable for ages 15 years old and up. Please check our other class for kids and family workshops.

  • 5/5 from Genevieve Giles, attended Aug 2026: Amanda and Melissa were so lovely, and so patient! It’s not an easy thing to learn and we all picked it up at least in part by the end. • 5/5 from Heather Weltman, attended Jul 2026: What a fabulous afternoon of learning. Amanda provided us with step-by-step notes she created. We had an enthusiastic group of learners of differing abilities, but that did not phase Amanda & Melissa our wonderful teachers. Each person was given the support & encouragement needed to walk out with a smile & the start of their individual ‘granny square’. In addition, they hold a social morning once a month were people can pop in to work on their project, chat & get support from the group.
  • 5/5 from Meredith Frankel, attended May 2026: Melissa, Amanda and the team have created such a wonderful space with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The class was clear, enough hands on deck to help everyone and with take home resources and wool/needles as a bonus. Will definitely be joining another class here!

Amanda, our teacher, did the best she could to take us through the basics of crochet, from holding the needle to learning how to crochet a granny square. We were 5 in the class and she had to move around the tables to ensure we were all on the right track, but she managed! It was great to meet other people and share the afternoon learning a new skill. I highly recommend the class, it is great!
