Class Summary:
In "Photography Talks by MJ Bentley, " students will receive pre-class materials guiding them on how to talk about their art and provide feedback to other students. During the 90-minute class, each student will get a chance to present their work and receive feedback from instructor MJ Bentley and fellow classmates in a low-pressure, supportive environment.
Result:
  • Students will walk away from Photography Talks gaining art & photography vocabulary, allowing them to better articulate themselves about their work.
  • Students will also gain confidence and meet other photographers.

MJ Bentley is an American and Australian/Narrm photographic artist. She was awarded "Top 40 Emerging Portrait Photographer" by Capture Mag x Fujifilm in 2023. She won the "Best Cinematography" award at Visionnaire Film Festival 2018 for her work on the film "Leach." She has exhibited for EAC, George Patton Gallery, Queerthentic 2024, Midsumma Festival 2024 + 2025, The Percivals 2024. Her work has been published in both print and online publications, including Rolling Stone. In her spare time, she is pursuing a Master's Degree of Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne.
