In this hands-on Leather Bag Workshop in Sydney, all materials are prepared for you—the leather is pre-cut and punched leather, so all you need to do is stitch and assemble your bag.
At VQ Art Studio (Eastwood), we help you create unforgettable experiences through art activities
In this workshop, you will:
  • Learn basic leather stitching techniques
  • Assemble your pre-cut leather pieces into a functional bag
Depending on your pace, you may need extra time at the venue to finish, or you can complete it at home once you’ve got the hang of it.

Travel & setup fee varies depending on location.

There isn’t enough time to complete the bag, I think another hour we would have finished it so that is why it’s losing a star, it felt very rushed. went on a Monday so it was not busy and we had the teachers attention but I think if there were other people it would have felt more rushed. Happy with my bag but not sure about the cost to payoff ratio either.

There were no instructions and the teacher spent most of the time on her phone. When I made a mistake, I asked if I could been shown how to fix it, she took it off me and did it herself, even when I said no. We left early rather than staying the whole class.

This time they gave me a Black Leather one. I do remember bits and pieces from last year, but with Phoebe's help we managed to get a lot done (although not finished). Can't wait for the next sessiont so we can finish it!

The bag came with pre-cut pieces and pre-stenciled holes, and we did the stitching by hand, which made the whole process feel very authentic and hands-on. And you get to decide if you want to add a zipper or not. The instructor provided clear, guided instructions and had a sample bag to show us what we were working towards. That made it much easier to follow along and stay confident throughout the process. Tea and water were also offered during the session, which was a lovely touch and made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxed. I didn’t quite finish within the allocated class time and had a little bit left to complete at home, but that just added to the appreciation of the craftsmanship involved. Hand sewing the bag really makes you realise the time, skill, and value behind handmade items. When I finally finished it, I was so proud of the result — it turned out great!

Really enjoyed this class. We didn't get to finish, so the teachers offered a follow up session, online help and phone help for when we complete at home. Thanks for a great day

It's mostly sewing leather parts of the bag together, like the pockets on this side and stuff. This is my first time trying to put together a leather bag. It was very exciting.
