What you'll do
This course builds on the core values explored in The Rehearsal Room's acting essentials workshop and experience is required to attend this online course.
The first focus in the intermediate sessions is building listening skills with new challenging exercises. The advanced workshops then add more sophisticated techniques to lift your understanding and skills to professional levels. Each class explores a specific element of the acting process that you then practice on a scene. You should record your scenes so you can assess your progress.
What you will learn:
- How to create a convincing and entertaining character
- How to engage your audience with the story and the drama
- Gain a skill set to start a professional acting career
Improvisation exercises are used to expand your confidence and playfulness. It is the ability to be playful that creates standout performances!
Please note: There are no classes on 29 June and 6 July as this is the mid-term break before starting the advanced sessions.
Knowledge required
These classes are for actors who have a working understanding of the Stanislavski process.
What to bring
