arrow_right_alt arrow_downwardAlmost every travel guide puts the Bondi to Coogee walk at the top of the list of things to do in Sydney. A cliff-top coastal walk, the Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. It takes about two hours to complete the Bondi to Coogee Beach section of the walk. We begin at Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach, a National Surfing Reserve and a great place to try surfing for the first time. We then pass the stunning Bondi Icebergs swimming club – one of Australia’s most photographed pools – onto a paved path that will take you around the headland. At Mark’s Park, just south of McKenzies Point, you can marvel at 2, 000-year-old traditional Aboriginal rock carvings before continuing on to Tamarama Beach. We then follow the coastline to Bronte Beach. Bronte also has a beautiful ocean pool at the southern end of the beach and a natural sheltered rock pool called the Bogey Hole. We then continue on from Bronte along the track that passes Calga Reserve. From here, we walk past the heritage-listed Waverley Cemetery, which is the resting place of many prominent Australians, including celebrated poet Henry Lawson. We end this beautiful hike at Coogee Pavilion for a well-earned lunch.
