$144 (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Step into the world of “Soulful Vase Stories” – a hands-on ceramic series where every vase tells a tale through shape, pattern, and seasonal beauty. In each 2.5-hour class, you’ll handbuild your own vase and decorate it using underglaze painting techniques that reflect a unique theme.
Come to one, or come to all — each class is a standalone creative journey, and together they tell a beautiful story of clay, colour, connection and heart.
This is a unique journey through world culture, cozy vibes and creative expression. Grow your own gallery of functional handmade vases — each a work of art and a memory of time well spent. Or gift them with a bunch of flowers as the perfect original present for just about anyone!
What You'll Do:
Sculpt your own vase using traditional slab building techniques
Be inspired by colourful pattern creation guided by the day’s theme
Apply your new skills in ceramic surface design using vibrant or earthy underglaze colours
Understand how to harmonise form and surface in a unique, functional object
Themes:
Stripes & Polka Dots - The Joy of Playful Pattern. Explore fun, rhythmic designs with bold brushstrokes and popping dots.
Mediterranean Summer – Zest, Tiles & Sun-Drenched Hues. Think lemons, pomegranates, cobalt blues, and sun-soaked terracotta tones.

Aboriginal Dreaming – Honouring Earth & Story. A sensitive, respectful class inspired by dot painting, storytelling, and connection to land.
La Dolce Vita – Evoke olive groves, sweet treats or vintage Italian cuisine.

Ocean Whispers – Sea-inspired magic of pretty shells, marine creatures or tropical vibes. Perfect for anyone who feels the pull of the tide.
Your vase will be professionally clear-glazed and kiln-fired by your teacher, ready for collection 3–4 weeks later—a handmade treasure to keep or gift.
This class is perfect for absolute beginners, coastal creatives, or anyone craving some authentic expression with their hands in clay. Slow, soulful, sweet and salty—just how we like it.

Hi, I’m Galia — ceramic artist, nature lover, and founder of Pottery of Gaia. Clay runs deep in my blood. I was born in Bulgaria, where pottery traditions go back thousands of years. My work is rooted in the slow beauty of handmade objects and inspired by the textures, patterns, and rhythms of the natural world.
I truly fell in love with ceramics over 20 years ago, while living in the stunning Mediterranean Island of Mallorca, Spain, where citrus groves, bougainvillea blooms, sea-blue tiles, and terracotta warmth awaken the senses. I shared a home with a local master ceramicist who introduced me to the magic of the craft and the soulful rhythms and traditional techniques of Mallorcan clay work.
Since moving to Australia, I’ve deepened my ceramic practice through studies at UNSW and Northern Beaches TAFE, and today I continue to explore this beautiful, diverse medium — one that literally co-creates with the elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire. Each piece is an alchemical dance between intention and surrender.
In my workshops, I guide you through a relaxing creative process that’s both grounding and joyful. I teach from three different spaces on the Northern Beaches. The main location is my cozy convenient studio in Collaroy opposite Alfresco Emporium, near Fishermans Beach. The second space is an amazing light-filled centre in the heart of Collaroy, with uninterrupted beach views and the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack. And finally, I also offer Alchemical open-air workshops from a stunning private nature sanctuary at my home studio.
Whether you’re a beginner or returning to clay, you’re warmly welcome. You'll leave with a handcrafted piece that’s completely your own... and maybe a little salty sunshine in your soul.
