Looking for something cosy to do in Sydney? Sink your hands into soft clay and discover the mindful therapeutic benefits of wheel throwing at Print Paint Pot. Sydney's most romantic pottery studio!
Our two-hour pottery wheel classes are great value and ideal for folks with zero experience who want to try the wheel to see if they like it before taking on a four-week course! to learn all the tricks. We provide aprons and your creations after firing will be microwave, dishwasher and food safe.
The wheel can be a tricky one to learn so you're unlikely to master it in just a single session - But we do provide unlimited balls of clay for unlimited attempts. Because the more you do the better you get.
This two-hour session is an ideal amount of time to learn the foundations of stoneware ceramics and wheel throwing, it includes approximately 15 minutes of studio introduction explaining the pottery process and wheel demonstration, 90 minutes of wheel time and 15 for cleaning up your wheel and photo opportunities at the end of your class.
Tickets are sold as a pair and cannot be purchased individually. The cost is $180 per couple.

With Zena's experience working as a pottery teacher at Bondi Clay and Clay Sydney paired with the support, partnership and hands on skills of Elgan, we decided to take a leap of faith and open a pottery studio in Artarmon offering a range of fun pottery classes and courses.

Zena and Elgan are amazing at what they do be it pottery or teaching. The class started with a demo on the start to finish before sending us off to our wheels to muck up a few attempts while supported by each of the instructors throughout.
Fun fact the studio also uses a different type of clay that produces sturdier and more rustic looking pieces (visible stoney bits)

We had an amazing time at print paint pot! It was out first time doing pottery and georgina was an awesome instructor, she gave great explanations on the pottery process while throwing in some jokes making it a really fun experience. She was also really helpful when asking for tips and techniques on fixing up our wobbly pieces.
Georgina, Zena and Elgan also made sure we had plenty of clay to experiment with and they explained the clay recycling process which was really cool and gave us reassurace we werent wasting the clay when our pieces were in shambles!
They also have all the facilities/bathrooms to clean up and wash up after the class, even storage space for your belongings and fridges for any drinks!
It was an overall amazing experience and we can't wait for the next class!

Instructor Elgan was beyond amazing, super friendly and guided us through like no other :D He made our experience heaps fun and took loads of couples pictures for my partner and I. Teacher was amazing. Started off with a detailed tutorial of what to do and helped whilst making our own pottery. Very friendly and happy to help when feeling a little lost. The venue itself was cozy with lots of inspiration to draw from as you could view others pottery lined on the shelf. Really good experience I would recommend even for couples not entirely interested in pottery.

The Clay and Sip experience at Print Paint Pot, was wonderful and relaxed, even if not much sipping occurred as we were all focused on the clay.
Even though it was a fairly full session all with people that had not worked on a clay wheel before, the organiser/teacher Georgia was able to assist fluidly and keep the environment comfortable and welcoming for all, even when we kept making some of the same mistakes.

The experience for us was a solo day 10/10! Our teach Georgina made the evening fun and had us all laughing! She helped us with whatever we were doing but also showed us it was okay to fail. The venue was so cute and authentic, great how it was a small class so we could all get help whenever we needed it. Loved being able to take some wine and laugh with the others as well. Would highly recommend to get this on your list of things to do!

Pottery is definitely not as easy as the pros make it look but Elgan was an awesome teacher who helped us make some great prices and also knows how to take a great Ghost photo. We barely noticed the two hours go by as we had so much fun learning to throw clay! Will definitely be recommending this class to anyone looking to try something different for date night.

The teacher was very friendly and accomodating. Start of the class and he got everyone feeling comfortable around him which helped a lot for us first timers. The venue was just perfect for the pottery class we were taking. We love the ambiance and how it’s an open space giving fresh air throughout the session. Just had a Father’s Day date night with my 11 year old and we had so much fun ! The place is hidden away from the hustle and bustle and as soon as we entered, we saw all these wonderful pots and plates that people had made before and at various stages of finish. There were three other couples with us too who made a few funny and some very artistic things. Playing with clay was so therapeutic! And the instructor was awesome too Very friendly and patient even with my kid. We’d love to come here again and more regularly.

Zena and her husband were super welcoming and attentive to all the students. You can definitely tell that they are very patient and down to earth people. Had a great time. Highly recommend. The wheel was much harder to learn than expected. However the teachers were very friendly and supportive. They took time to focus on each person throughout the class to help them out, making it a very fun and enjoyable experience.

A true crash course. We were shown the basic steps once at the beginning and then given time to figure it out ourselves. Instructor was nice but could have been more hands on when coming around to help. Still had a great time though! Note that you have to travel back to Atarmon at a later date to pick up your chosen finished piece.

The venue was super special, the class was intimate and the teachers were lovely and patient. It's such a great date night idea, super romantic haha! But even as friends or if you come alone I guarantee you'll get addicted. The only thing I was left wanting was one more hour of fun! It takes a while to get used to the wheel and the steps, so it can be quite a rush at the end to produce a sculpture you're proud of.

I booked this for my husband's birthday as he enjoys artistic pursuits and I thought it would be relaxing, he has been stressed lately. We both loved it but I was especially pleased at how much he loved it. He said he could have stayed all night. Elgan was a wonderful teacher. Very patient and attentive. He took us through all the steps and then watched over us and guided us through each individual step. He was very kind and encouraging and had a lovely calm presence. We loved the decor, all the earthy colours and the beautiful diffused scents. It was also just the right number of students so we didn't feel overwhelmed or overlooked. An excellent class - great value for money. Thank you so much !

Wonderful experience learning to make pottery with friends. The teachers were friendly and really helpful, guiding us through each step. The venue was cosy and a lot of thought was put into the space/feel. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we are keen to come back. Would highly recommend!

A lovely experience to spend with your date and also with yourself. Challenging and very satisfying. Teachers are really cool, helpful with lots of experience. Nice environment in a secret hidden spot. Will defs sign up to the next level course.
