Shibori Workshop And Gallery is the place to discover your unfound creativity! Expand your mind with the infinite possibilities of making patterns and be fascinated by the stunning effects and simplicity of dyeing with indigo.

Workshops join people, whether you come alone or in a group you will meet like-minded people and add to the energy that comes from a creative gathering.

What you'll learn:

  • How to make an indigo dye vat
  • The wonders of Indigo and fun that comes with it
  • To unlock your creativity
  • Several traditional Japanese shibori techniques and modern variations on each

Our shibori studio is equipped with:
  • Large workbenches
  • Five washbasins
  • Drying lines
  • Tools and equipment for dyeing
  • And is accessible to all!

Bring your friends or come and make new ones. There's no better way to spend a day, join the community and share the love of making things beautiful!

A great idea for team building, hens nights, birthdays and more! Guests are welcome to bring drinks and nibbles.

What you'll get
  • Cotton fabric to experiment with. Try all the techniques and ogle over the magic that is created with indigo.
  • A white silk scarf to dye with your favourite pattern.
What to bring
  • Wear closed in shoes, non-precious clothes and an apron (a splash of blue should never be sad)
  • Old plastic shopping bags to take home wet pieces
  • Anything you want to dye (the more the merrier!)
  • A smock or apron (just in case)
  • Your imagination!
Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a team building activity, birthday, hens party or bucks party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 8 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

This would also be a nice gift for her, gift for mum or anniversary gift.

Pepa Martin and Karen Davis are the designers behind boutique design house, Shibori. Based in Sydney, Australia, Shibori specialises is art based designs with a youthful, classic edge.

What began as a creative dream in 1996 turned into a design destiny, with Shibori internationally known for hand dyed leather, contract grade fabrics and wallpapers, two published books and a swag of collaborations.

Shibori continues to invent new ways to create designs and loves passing on the passion through creative workshops.
