This is a ClassBento LiveBox class! From the comfort of your home, share an artisan experience with your friends, family or colleagues, or enjoy with like-minded others. As seen on The Guardian, TimeOut, Broadsheet, Concrete Playground, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and more. Here's how it works:

  1. Book or Request your preferred time
  2. We'll deliver a ClassBento Box to you - this is a physical DIY craft box containing the materials you'll need. Shipping is free, and you'll get your box delivered in time for your class. We ship nationwide.
  3. Enjoy the online class. You'll receive a link to a Zoom meeting. On the day of the class, use that link to join the class. Class sizes are kept small, so you can easily ask questions and get immediate responses. Zoom is free and easy to use, on any device. You're in control of your privacy - you can mute yourself and hide your webcam if and when you prefer.

In need of fun indoor activities? In this live streaming class, you will make a clay hanging planter of your choice! Based on the photos of my planters shown here, you will create a little clay hanger with beautiful textures and colours.

You will learn how to build a pot, how to paint clay while it is still fresh, and how to play with textures and shapes. Then we will make some beads to decorate and to help us hang the planter.

You will decide how you want to hang it, learn how to make the holes and how to weave a little macrame hanger. You'll also learn how to make drainage holes if needed.

Lastly, you will learn how to preserve your hanging planter to make it long-lasting so that you can plant a succulent in it ( or any other plant of your choice).

Craft box is filled with goodies that you get to keep for your next project too. It is always a good idea to get in touch and advise your teacher what is your shape/texture/colour preference prior to craft box shipping. This is a complex class and we can customise it to you.

On booking, you can choose between air drying clay or natural clay.

Air drying clay: Is a natural type of clay ( unlike polymer clay) and it allows you to have a finished product by the end of the class. You will need to leave it dry thoroughly for a few days before you plant something in it, but you will know what your final product looks like immediately. Amazing feature of air-drying clay is that you don't have to fire it, it will harden by itself. Downside- a bit harder to smoothen or sculpt details, but I think it is very appropriate for hanging planter in a macrame rope.

Natural clay: This type of clay is the professional clay used for tableware, ceramic art etc. Downside of it is that it needs to be fired in professional firing kilns, at least once, and twice if you want to glaze your hanging planter. Good side is everything else. There is usually service firing in every city/ town that can help , or you can book into my Firing and Glazing class to complete your piece and get a deeper insight in professional ceramics.

*All of the planters shown are made out of natural clay, double-fired and glazed.

Both options are wonderful and creative endlessly fun projects and I promise you won't be disappointed whichever you choose!

Please note: This class does not include soil and plants.

Hi, I'm Irina.

I like to introduce myself as a sculptor, although I'm engaged in different art disciplines too. I have never had another profession, nor have I wanted one. I fell in love with three-dimensional art at a very early age which came to me naturally, as I was born in a family of artists. It was the world I've grown up in, a measure of value around me.

I have graduated from Fine Arts, majoring in Sculpture, and with a bit of luck, I had a chance to work internationally and gain great experience in different industries and media. Cooperating with professionals from other creative fields has perfectioned my skills and broadened the views of my artistic expression.

I have tried to gather all the projects I am engaged in on this website, showcase it, sell and teach my art. Always open for the new projects with fellow creatives, just get in touch.

Lovely 1:1 experience with a kind and patient teacher. Would highly recommend this as a gift or even experience for yourself!

Was extremely good. I still felt that the class could have been 15 to 20 minutes longer.

It was a great way to spend a hour during lock down :) and got a quirky little pot to hang on too as well!
