Immerse yourself in the captivating world of resin art with Rochelle from Collective Obsessions who has been working with resin for over 7 years. In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to create wooden coasters and a unique serving tray using the versatile medium of resin.
Delve into a hands-on journey of artistic discovery as you learn a plethora of techniques including how to create the ocean effect, invaluable tips, and expert tricks that will guide you towards achieving the perfect glossy finish for your creations.

Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.
What you'll need
Everything you need is included in the kit! However, you will need a heat gun (with flame). We recommend a brulee gun or heat torch, and we suggest wearing old clothes as resin does not come out. Avoid doing this in a room with carpet as resin will not come out should you spill any.

Meet the Team:
Rochelle - Owner
Growing up with a creative dad and a crafty mum, it’s no surprise that Rochelle had paint, pencils, and art running through her veins from the get-go. She’s dabbled in everything – from charcoal sketches and fashion design to photography – which totally stole her heart. Capturing special moments and turning them into forever memories? Yep, that was her jam.
These days, Rochelle channels her creative energy into all the things – art, nature-inspired pieces using wood, messy magic with flow art, and of course, guiding others on their own creative adventures. Her passion for art (and life in general) is infectious – in the best way!
She’s fuelled by laughter (usually at Jamie’s expense), her deep love for the ocean… okay, fine, the studio too… and maybe a sneaky slice of her own homemade cake. Because yes – she bakes as well as she paints. Overachiever much?
Rochelle’s favourite thing in the world? Watching someone walk into a workshop thinking they’re “not artistic” – then leaving with a grin and a gorgeous piece they made with their own two hands. She lives for those “OMG I DID THAT?!” moments – and she’ll be your biggest cheerleader every step of the way.
Meet Mean Boss – aka Jamie
Co-Founder & Artist
Affectionately known as Mean Boss (though he’s really just a big softie), Jamie is a creative soul with a love for all things quirky, unique, and a little out of the ordinary. Much like Rochelle, his creative journey started behind the lens – with a keen eye for capturing beauty in the places most people overlook.
But Jamie didn’t stop there. With a deep appreciation for nature, raw materials, and old-school craftsmanship passed down through generations, he ventured into the world of timber – crafting stunning natural furniture pieces with a twist.
These days, Jamie’s creativity knows no bounds. He works with everything from charcoal and resin to acrylics, ink, graphite, and yes still timber – always experimenting, always pushing the boundaries, and always making a bit of a mess and breaking a few things along the way (the fun & okay kind!).
Now that he’s back in the studio, Jamie’s ready to roll up his sleeves and dive headfirst into new creative projects. With his trademark humour, relaxed vibe, and endless ideas, we’re thrilled to have him back doing what he does best – creating magic (and maybe a little mischief) at Collective Obsessions
