Earrings are easy to make and whether you are a first-time crafter or love DIY these are both stunning and original designs by Christine Smalley from Etelage. Make two pairs of designer earrings and follow Christine in a pre-recorded step by step online class.

With your craft box, you can make up to two pairs of earrings in your choice of colour:

  • 'Florentine' drop earrings
  • 'Fan' charm drop earrings

'Florentine' earrings are pretty and delicate but still pack an elegant statement. Aptly named after the ancient technique of metal engraving with a fringe of Czech glass crystal drops.

The 'Fan' earrings are made from a delicately brass vintage element, combined with a solo accent cloisonne enamel bead adorned with a pretty floral pattern. Gilded metallics make this vintage modern earring design an elegant statement. Plus, they are so lightweight and therefore incredibly comfortable to wear!

Both designs are sustainable with brass being the most eco of all metals as it has a small footprint. If you're looking for fun things to do at home, reach out for one of our jewellery making DIY kits which are just like making from scratch, only easier! Plus this earring kit comes with a step by step video tutorial in these times of physical distancing.

Inspiring Jewellery Designer, Educator and Stylist

I am a local inner west, Sydney jewellery designer, passionate educator, author, community-spirited and sustainable style advocate and founder of Etelage (est. 2002), a boutique jewellery design studio. Etelage celebrates the maker culture, creativity and the joy and craftsmanship of handmade.

I wander the globe to source the beautiful and the unique. From vintage elements which I find in dusty basements to modern elements made by artisans from time-honoured traditions. I observe that generally as a society we are becoming more mindful about our choices: conscious of choosing products which are made using artisan traditions and not mass produced, and seeking quality over quantity.

Fueled with a passion for women to exude their notable and authentic style, my goal is to create exciting and original creative workshop experiences, encouraging all my students to awaken their creative soul and seek beauty, slow, artisan and local. I love creating a teaching environment where participants can share ideas, be inspired and let their imaginations run wild! With over 19 years teaching experience from TAFE, corporate and community groups, to hens parties and private tuition, I am dedicated to empowering my students to become better designers and better makers, equipping them with skills and confidence to create whatever they dream!

Learn how to string chunky necklaces, knot eclectic beads, link chandelier earrings, use buttons and buckles in jewellery design, and more at our friendly and intimate studio spaces in Rozelle and Summer Hill. Alternatively, we can travel to your venue. (for group bookings only)

I invite you to come and learn some simple jewellery making techniques with a local jeweller, which will impress you as well as your friends.

Etelage jewellery workshops are perfect for individuals, corporate bookings or a group of friends.

Let's make and play together and unlock your inner creative!
