Discovering botanical printing and dying has lead my art practise down an endless path encountering the diversity of clean natural processes to create colour and pattern on paper and textiles. Sharing the experience with others reinvigorates my own curiosity, and the questions asked by participants creates a wave of energy that I joyfully ride. Publishing my first book, The Natural Dyers Notebook, Volume 1, was a direct result of the curiosity of others.

Appreciated being taught with time to learn through practice. It was awesome thank you Wendy.

What a great way to spend a morning learning a new skill. Wendy is an enthusiastic botanical minded crafty and she was an encouraging teacher for us first timers. We made a scarf and decorated a sheet of craft paper to take home. Everybody was delighted with their efforts though a bit hesitant to start. We had a perfect autumn day for sitting outside playing with leaves and flowers in the garden. A very generous morning tea was also provided. I did this on my own as a birthday voucher but it would be a nice thing to do with a friend.

A fabulous workshop in a stunning location with a wonderful teacher! I can honestly say this was the most worthwhile class I have done in a long time. Fascinating, artistic, informative …. And most importantly has truly inspired me to continue with this type of printing. Wendy has an infectious passion for what she does and everyone in our group enjoyed each others results which I think says it all. Thank you Wendy!

This was the highlight of the year for our family! Wendy kindly offered a session on New Year’s Eve for our daughter’s birthday. Everything was perfect and it’s was an incredible gift for everyone. Wendy was so nice, and her garden was beautiful and peaceful. Words cannot describe how amazing this workshop is and how grateful we are!

This was such a lovely class. Wendy had so many examples of her work which was inspiring & was full of knowledge on the topic. She grows a lot of her own plants for the class, tea & nibbles was the perfect break mid morning. I came home with a silk scarf & piece of thick cardboard (which i made some recycled paper & turned into notebooks). I’m now really excited to start experimenting with plants myself.

Wendy is an excellent teacher and kind, generous person. She customised the class to suit my needs and ability, provided high quality, varied materials and demonstrations in a dedicated studio with stunning views and ambience with inspirational craft and art on display. I came away with everything I needed to spin confidently in only 3 hours. Incredible value for money, fun and uplifting. I will be back if only for more fun and inspiration.

Wendy's enthusiasm was contagious, and she gave us just the right blend of freedom to be creative and specific guidance when we needed it. Can't wait to try this at home and would recommend this class to anyone interested in exploring ways of creating using materials that nature provides.

I purchased the Botanical Print Workshop with Wendy for my mum and my 15 year old daughter for Christmas. They both thoroughly enjoyed the class. Wendy was incredibly knowledgeable and made them both feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Wendy had conversations with everybody and treated my daughter exactly the same as she did the other ladies in the class. Both of them came home with pieces they loved that they’d made in the class and cannot wait to try the techniques that Wendy taught them at home. Feedback from both of them is that it is a highly recommended class, experience and teacher.

Loved the whole experience & was thrilled with the results from my first attempt at Botanical printing on a silk scarf & paper. I’m hooked & have shared what I learned & made with family & friends. Bought Wendy’s Natural Dyer’s Notebook as a reference & look forward to returning for more fun & experimentation

This class was fabulous! Wendy was so knowledgeable and inspiring in how she explained the process behind the printing and the potential for how we can continue practicing this at home. The venue was stunning with a view of the bush, and we just had the best time chatting and working on our project. I would recommend this workshop to everyone!

Rowan Yeomans Nov 2022

Wendy is a great teacher and goes out of her way to make you comfortable and even gave us all a plant to take home! She gave us a range of projects to work on such as ecodying silk, linen, paper as well as using natural materials for shibori dying and dying hand spun wool. She also explained some of the science and chemical processes behind the process which was super interesting. I particularly liked how my silk and paper pieces turned out.

I attended the workshop with my mum and would recommend attending with a friend as it is a slow process so it's nice to have a person you know to enjoy Wendy's lovely hospitality, afternoon tea offerings, and beautiful home studio with as you wait for your pieces to process and soak in the beautiful natural environment you've been creating art in.
