Description

Block printing is a lovely way of creating one-of-a-kind fabrics to use for homewares or for quilting. Come design and carve a simple motif which you will then use to print a tote bag or a tea towel.

In this crafty class I will introduce you to my process of designing, carving and printing. I will share with you my materials, techniques and tips. I will bring along a whole lot of my stamps so that you can experiment printing with both your stamps and mine.

Class outcomes:
- Breathe, relax, carve.
- Learn basic carving techniques.
- Print a tote bag or tea towel.
- Take home new skills and new stamps to use over and over again.

This was a really enjoyable workshop in a gorgeous space. Rowan explained the process well and supplied a range of materials for us. I made a cute little tote bag which I'm very happy with.

This was my first workshop at the Centre and I really enjoyed it. Rowan was lovely! Very welcoming and warm. The set up was great - all the materials were organised and ready for us. Rowan explained clearly what we were going to do and how and instructed us very well - I really liked her style. Two hours was just enough time for us to carve our block and print either a teatowel or tote bag. There weren't enough bags for everyone but fortunately some of us preferred the tea towel option. The workshop was good value and we all learnt a skill we can continue at home. Rowan shared her tips and tricks and where to source the best materials. It was a fantastic way to spend 2 hours and I'd definitely return.
