Hello! My name is Ayumi, and I’m a creative adventurer with a deep love for art, culture, and meaningful connections. I’ve been studying Japanese since I was 10 years old, and my passion for Japanese traditions led me to spend three incredible years attending high school in Tokyo. There, I fell in love with the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship, which inspired me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Media, majoring in Graphic Design, at Griffith University in Australia. My journey has been all about exploring creativity, and I’m excited to share one of my favorite discoveries with you: Japanese shine carving.In 2020, I tried shine carving for the first time, and it instantly became a source of inner peace and joy for me. The meticulous process, the connection to Japanese heritage, and the meditative focus it requires felt like a calming escape from the busy world. It’s not just an art form—it’s a way to slow down, connect with yourself, and create something beautiful with your own hands. That’s why I’m starting a shine carving class, but here’s the twist: I’m not here to just teach. I’m here to make friends, share ideas, and build a community of art lovers who can inspire and support each other.As a live streamer on 17Live for four years (and ranking top 5 in Hong Kong in 2023), I’ve learned how to connect with people and create a fun, welcoming space. My class will be a place to relax, learn, and make new buddies who share your passion for creativity.
