Intermediate Cyanotype Workshop: Beyond the Blue

Discover wet cyanotypes and toning a cyanotype for colour variations

4 hours Class size 1 to 7

label $165 (or 4 payments of $41 Afterpay)

Looking to expand on the cyanotype skills that you learnt in our Beginners Cyanotype Workshop: Simply Blue? Join Lisa for this advanced class and let's get started!

We will start off with making a couple of original cyanotype artworks which you will then tone. This means to change the colourway from the usual blue of cyanotype to shades of browns, greys and even purple tones.

It's really exciting to watch the image disappear before your eyes then reappear in a totally different colour way! During this class, we will also explore the process of a 'Wet Cyanotype' which results in more abstract artwork.

Backgrounds are textured and patterns appear where they would normally be a flat one-dimensional colour. You will be able to experiment with a variety of techniques and products to create an original artwork that will be very individual and fun to create.

Wet cyanotypes are a fairly new process, discovered only a few years ago and they allow so much more experimentation and personality in your artwork. You will create four artworks during the course of this workshop to take home along with notes for future reference.
