Discover how to master the technical aspects of your DSLR camera at this comprehensive photography course in Sydney!
Led by Richard Lynch at Sydney Community College, you'll be able to expand your knowledge of photography aspects like lighting, metering, correct exposure, motion blur and more!
Each week you'll explore photography basics, gain an understanding of theoretical concepts and have opportunities to practice what you have learnt.
Course outline:
In this week we'll explore bracketing, tonal, dynamic and high dynamic range and lens filters. We will spend our practical experimenting with bracketing techniques.
- Week two: Capturing light
At this workshop, we'll explore all things related to light including quantity and quality of natural light, types of light and diffusion and directional light and angles. We'll have two practical shoots, one exploring shooting with modified light and one using directional light techniques.
- Week three: Exposure variations
Learn all about histograms and exposures, high key and low key exposures and more! We will also practice night exposures and reflections.
Continue to build on your camera skills through looking at motion blur photography and panning techniques. In the practical component, have a go at using blur and panning techniques.
- Week five: Controlling light
In our final session, we'll show you how to really control lighting. We'll look at natural lighting, colour casts, colour temperature and more. We'll also have a presentation on food photography and practice shooting with light and product photography.
Please note: This course is for anyone who has completed our
DSLR Photography Course for Beginners or an equivalent course.
Best suited for intermediate photographers with some experience and those who have completed our
DSLR Photography Course for Beginners.
- Digital SLR Camera and lens.
- SD card with a minimum of 8GB of memory.
- One fully charged camera battery.
- Tripod or monopod is helpful but not a requirement.
This class series runs over 5 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.
