Level up your Japanese cooking skills with Chef Mayumi in Sydney. In this fun class, you will learn how to make your own Japanese udon noodles from scratch, served in a tasty soup with assorted tempura. Chef Mayumi is also a trained Pastry Chef so enjoy the added bonus of Daifuku mochi with ice cream for dessert (demonstration).
Japanese food is all about freshness and quality, which has led to the popularity of this incredible cuisine in Australia. Under the guidance of qualified chef Mayumi, you will be able to emulate the flavours and techniques used in Japanese cooking to create your very own dishes.
Everything we will be cooking in the class:
- Udon noodle: Udon is a thick noodle made from wheat flour, used in Japanese cuisine. It is a comfort food for many Japanese people. There are a variety of ways it is prepared and served.Â
- Tempura: a light golden batter that puffs up and gives texture and crunch to meats and vegetables.
- Japanese cucumber salad (Sunomono): marinated in vinegar, sugar, salt, and soy sauce, this sweet & sour cucumber salad makes a perfect side dish. It’s light, healthy, and incredibly refreshing!Â
- Daifuku mochi with ice cream for dessert (demonstration).
