Japanese Kimono Dressing Experience

Learn how to dress yourself in Yukata and feel the spirit of Japan!

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 5

label $120 (or 4 payments of $30 Afterpay)

Dress yourself in beautiful yukata with Kyoko Hodgkinson, Kimono Grand Master and Kimono Stylist.

Go behind the scenes at one of Sydney’s most renowned kimono salon and you'll experience the ancient art of Kimono dressing. Class sizes are purposely kept small to keep the experience intimate, and to ensure that you get enough one on one attention and feedback.

You’ll learn about the fascinating history of the kimono and the techniques required to dress yourself. We will dress in a Yukata, which is a casual Kimono that is light and easy to wear.

Get unique tips on how best to dress yourself in a Yukata. You will learn how to do appropriate body correction prior to dressing, choose a Yukata from our collection to wear, tie your own obi and create your own new look!

Once dressed, you will have a lesson on "Shosa" which is a movement and manner in which you wear a kimono. You will also have the opportunity to visit local cafes and parks for photo opportunities for 30 minutes at the end of workshop (great for insta). Enjoy your new learned knowledge and skills to start your kimono journey.

Kyoko will guide you but also give you space to be creative. Discover the elegance and serenity of kimono dressing and learn about Japanese culture through wearing Yukata.

By the end, you will be amazed at how special you will feel wearing Yukata and discover "a new you!"
