A simple explanation of mindfulness and why it is important in daily life.
Participants learn how awareness, presence, and non-judgment help reduce stress and improve clarity. The Japanese tea ceremony is designed to instil mindfulness in those who practise it.

Understanding Your Current State

Understanding Your Current State

Using a self-reflection checklist, participants take a moment to notice their physical, emotional, and mental condition.
This helps them understand where they are before beginning the tea practice.

Breathing Meditation

Breathing Meditation

Through a breathing meditation, we enhance concentration and allow the blood to flow throughout the body. With our senses sharpened.

Setting Up the Tools

Setting Up the Tools

The tea ceremony begins from the moment you start arranging the utensils. To prepare the tea, each tool is moved and placed in a precise, traditional order.
After cleansing the utensils, we prepare the matcha slowly and mindfully, paying attention to every action.

The tea ceremony, once essential training for samurai and influential merchants, later became valued education for leaders in politics and business.
Konosuke Matsushita, founder of Panasonic, reinterpreted its core philosophy — Wa-Kei-Sei-Jaku (Harmony, Respect, Purity, Tranquility) — as “a sincere and humble heart”, believing this mindset to be vital in business and leadership.
This workshop offers a gentle way to experience that wisdom and apply its essence to support mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.

I am a Certified Nerikiri Teacher, dedicated to sharing the Japanese spirit of harmony through the art of wagashi.
I was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. When I was young, I didn’t pay much attention to wagashi, our traditional Japanese confectionery. However, after spending many years in Sydney, Australia, I began to look back on my culture with fresh eyes.
As I learned more, I became deeply inspired by how Japanese artists capture the delicate beauty of each season through wagashi, often paired with a bowl of Matcha. These creations are more than sweets — they are meditative experiences, inviting us to pause, reflect, and find harmony.
Through my journey, I have come to see wagashi as an expression of mindfulness, seasonal beauty, and Japanese aesthetics. Now, I wish to share this spirit of harmony with the world — one sweet moment at a time.
