What you'll do
Continue learning how to capture the colour, precision and detail of fruits, flowers and foliage at this intermediate level online watercolour art course with Shipra Shah. Perfect if you're tried our beginners watercolour class or a similar course, and are looking to expand your skills!
To continue learning from home online, this four-week course will guide you through more advanced techniques for sketching an object in proportion, using pencil and watercolours.
Over four calming sessions, you can go to your quiet place as you further practice and develop your skills working with light, tone and colour to create depth and detail in your botanical art.
What we'll cover:
- All principles and techniques of botanical art
- Complex composition for botanical subjects
- How to use watercolour and colour mixing thoroughly
- Shading and detailing in an elaborate botanical object with watercolour
At the end of the course, you'll have a range of amazing new skills as well as a number of artworks to display proudly in your home or give as unique gifts to loved ones!
Knowledge required
This course is suitable for students with some experience in botanical art with watercolour - particularly those who have completed our beginners watercolour class.
What you'll get in your craft kit
- Reeves Watercolour Set, 12 x 12mL
- 110 Staedtler Tradition pencil 2H
- Soft pencil eraser
- Brushes: 121R Roun Taklon size 2 and 4
- Watercolour pad, 100% cotton, 300GSM A4 x 15 sheets

- A white flat ceramic plate for colour mixing

Shipra trained for 5 years at a premier art institute and has a Degree in Fine Arts and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has worked as a Visual Merchandiser and Set Designer for many years and has gained extensive experience in Store Planning and Graphic Art. Throughout this period, Shipra has continued her love for drawing and watercolour painting.
Over the years her works include detailed watercolour paintings, participating and selling in several exhibitions, doing illustration works and above all conducting workshops and teaching watercolour and botanical art at various institutions.
