Equipment and what you Really Need

Equipment and What You Really Need

The reality is that you only need your mobile phone or camera to start. Everything else is a fantastic bonus.

Learn what equipment will be good to have to start, and what you will need to really improve your game. You may not have all the equipment yet, and that is fine.

After this course, you can decide on what you need and get them.

Camera Settings for Cinematic Videos

Camera Settings for Cinematic Videos

Most mobile phones and modern cameras will produce a decent image when using the "automatic" mode. However, knowing how to use the manual mode will greatly improve your visual quality. Going from basic, to cinematic, just by tweaking a few settings.

Learn what all these settings are and how to use them to produce great videos every time.

Setting up Your Home Studio

Setting Up Your Home Studio

Setting up your home studio or a space that you can repeatably use if you are planning to create a lot of content, will dramatically make it so much easier to keep up with your "production schedule". Just simply turn on lights at best, or set up the camera and lights in the same spot all the time easily, at worst; will keep your time from being ready to record to actually doing it, to a minimum.

Learn how to create an environment that is easy for you to set up, and still add the professional look to your videos.

Presenting on Camera

Presenting on Camera

Learn how to present more confidently on camera. Winging it isn't really a good option.

All good presenters have a plan and a system to make sure they are spending hours trying to get it right. They just do it 3 to 5 times and they are done.

So this part about tips and trick to get your self-filmed videos done efficiently
and effectively.

Learn simple yet professional skills to start filming yourself.
Here's what we will go through together:
  • Stuff you need to get the professional video look without costing the world
  • What the "manual" settings are on your phone camera and how they help you improve video quality
  • How to set up a "Film Studio" that you can easily set and forget, or repeatedly set up and take down in 10 to 15 minutes
  • Techniques and tricks to presenting better on camera
It's amazing how simple self-filming is once you know how to do it right and repeatedly.

If you’ve ever stood in front of a camera and suddenly forgotten what you were going to say — you’re not alone. Everyone feels that way at first. Including myself.
What I've learnt over 25 years making television shows and YouTube videos is: no one is born ready to be on camera. But with the right guidance, a few practical skills, and a lighter mindset, you can feel comfortable and even enjoy the process.
Having been behind (and in front of) the lens, creating real, human stories for businesses and individuals — and I’ve seen how empowering it is when someone discovers their own voice on camera.
You don’t need fancy gear or years of training. You just need curiosity and a willingness to try.
Filmmaking isn’t just for professionals — it’s for anyone who wants to express, connect, and create. And once you start, you’ll see how fun and freeing it can be to tell your story through the lens.
