  • 5/5 from Siobhan Bryan, attended Aug 2026: The class was really great! They provided everything you needed to get the job done and there was work done on two projects: A set project and a personal free for all. My one suggestion would be to bring a template/pattern for what you are planning to make for your personal project so that you don't have to draft it on the fly during the class. It would have been great to get a little more time to look at/practice lacing techniques.
  • 4/5 from Kathryn Hirst, attended Aug 2026: I enjoyed the making and class was great, especially considering it was a covering presenter due to illness.
  • 5/5 from Margaret Gill, attended Nov 2024: Phil was great, passionate, informative and explained clearly. I made a very useful scissors case
  • 5/5 from Tom Gardner, attended Nov 2024: Highly recommend!
  • 4/5 from Judith Egan, attended Nov 2024: A good introduction to basic leather work tools and techniques. Instructor Phil is patient and willing to help with any questions about techniques. My suggestion to future participants is to have an idea about a simple piece that you would like to create planned before you arrive - some made passport carriers, spectacle cases, scissor sheaths, credit card holders.

  • 5/5 from Verna Wing, attended Sep 2023: The workshop was exactly as described and we learned the technique of saddle stitching and lacing. Phil our teacher is kind and patient and I enjoyed learning from his experience and expertise. I also appreciated learning a new craft using materials that were readily available, without the requirement of having to purchase expensive tools for basic stitching and lacing whether it is the use of a square of carpet and corflute board or shoe laces which readily available at Reverse Garbage or recycling wood to make the pony. The duration of the workshop was good, as was the venue which gave us the opportunity to purchase some materials available in the shop.
