There are so many ways to drink coffee, here at Roastville we love brewing because we can taste the true flavour/characteristics from the coffee itself.

There are many variables through the whole brewing process, and we will show you how to showcase coffee using different brewing methods

What you will learn:

  • Coffee cupping, understanding of each single-origin coffee, process, varietals.
  • Roasting related to brewing.
  • Particle sizes, grinding.
  • Choose the right water, and how does water affect the taste.
  • Introduction of brewing, ratio, brewing technic.
  • Manual brewing in different devices, v60, Chemex, Aeropress, Syphon, Cold brew.
  • Homebrewing.

Before or after your workshop you can enjoy a beautiful meal at our cafe is located downstairs, meals are not included in the cost of the workshop.

Our teacher at Roastville, Andy Liu, was a recent NSW Barista Champion, placing first in a highly competitive process. He also won the World tea brewing championship in 2017.

Andy has taught students at all levels in the art of coffee and tea making, from absolute beginners, to other Barista Champions.

Great experience! Learned a lot about brewing, a lot of practical stuff to improve how I brew coffee at home. Kunal was super lovely and knowledgeable. I’d recommend getting there early to have breakkie at the cafe beforehand (I do not advise doing this afterwards as the cafe is super busy around brunch time!).

Great workshop - packed in a lot of info and tastings with enough time to practice making two types of coffee! Definitely recommend - knowledgeable facilitator, practical info and skills to take home (and you get a bag of beans to take home to try too!). Plus, it’s located at the cafe so you can make a morning of it with brunch afterwards

I gifted this workshop to my bf and attended as well and we were both so impressed with the workshop and Kunal the teacher - he had so much knowledge to share, plenty of time to ask questions and be involved and brew our own coffees. I’m not a coffee drinker and don’t enjoy the taste but this class converted me! I would I highly recommend this class and Kunal the teacher on the day is - thank you for making our day and this workshop so enjoyable! Highly recommend 10/10

Really fun class and our coffee coach was really kind and approachable. Learned heaps in just 2-3 hours and was so wired from the coffee. They even gave us a free bag of coffee at the end to take home, which was awesome. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

The teacher was experienced and knowledgeable. It was a bit crowded and at times hard to hear due to the noise from the cafe.
Great experience of learning how to do coffee cupping and the different filter methods and grind size.
Would have been great to be shown the variety of filter coffee equipment available for purchase. We were looking at the equipment ourselves and some were not shown in the class so we didn't know what to choose.
Lovely touch with a bag of coffee beans to take home.

Great value for money. Andy was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Loved his analogies :) Class was kept small which was good as I think it would be quite hard with a big group. I learned a lot!
