Marrickville Food Tour Workshop

A walking foodie tour in Sydney's multicultural Inner West and the coolest suburb Marrickville

3 hours

Class size 1 to 11 (public classes), 6 to 15
  $150 (Afterpay available)

Fall in love with Sydney's multicultural Inner West, on this bite-seeing walking tour through its coolest and most eclectic neighbourhood, Marrickville. Our tour will take you through some of our neighbourhood’s most famous eats, plus a few surprises we wanna 'keep under the cloche'!
Example Itinerary
1. We’ll kick things off with one of Marrickville’s most famous eats, a Banh Mi (Vietnamese pork roll). Think a fresh, crusty roll packed with savoury fillings, crisp veggies, herbs and plenty of flavour. It’s a proper local favourite and a tasty introduction to Marrickville’s Vietnamese food culture.
2. Next up, it’s a sweet Aussie classic with a twist. A familiar favourite gets a creative makeover with flavours inspired by the neighbourhood around us, paired with a coffee to keep things moving.
3. From sweet to salty, we’ll stop by a family run seafood spot for a fresh taste from the ocean. Depending on the day, we’ll tuck into freshly shucked oysters or sashimi, keeping things simple and letting the seafood do the talking.
4. We’ll wash down that deliciousness with a beer from a local brewery. We think a sour matches best, but you may be a hop head and need an IPA or possibly you are in love with the darkness of a porter. No judgement, all beer is good beer.
5. The sweet sweet finish is dessert from one of Sydney’s best loved local makers. We’ll ‘get stuck into’ some house made gelato to round out our bite seeing adventure through Marrickville.
Guests can choose the optional extra of a city pick up, or take a 10 minute ride on Sydney’s Metro to Sydenham. Please select a 10:15 time slot if choosing the pick up option.
City Pick Up and Drop Off (additional charge) -- choose either of two pick-ups at the checkout:
  • Circular Quay 10:15am -- The Obelisk, Macquarie Place Park, Cnr Bridge & Loftus St
  • Central 10:30am -- Keg & Brew Hotel, 26 Foveaux St, Surry Hills

“At Dave’s, we’re all about showing you local as we love it all; food, drinks, history, and culture. Come explore with us on tour!”
Our philosophy is simple – collaboration. We love bringing people together to taste and experience the craftsmanship of our local producers.
Whether that is on a behind the scenes brewery tour, a walk back in time through our pub culture on a pub walk, or a corporate event – everything we do is about connecting more people to local communities.
In doing so, we are supporting the passions and dreams of those who are bringing to market some of the finest products available and making visitors aware of the toil and strife that goes into producing great drinks and food.
To us, it’s more than the art and science. It’s the stories, the legends, the scars of effort and devotion to doing something different. It’s about connecting people who are passionate about what they produce with those who are equally as passionate about what they consume.
