What you'll do
Make and take home a fragrance inspired by Baccarat Rouge, the top-selling luxury niche perfume, at this practical introduction to perfumery class in Marrickville.
Over the course of one hour, you will be introduced to an array of quality raw materials sourced from the world over, which feature in Baccarat Rouge - one of the top-selling fragrances in luxury niche perfumery today. We will reverse engineer to uncover how to make our own perfume inspired by the best-selling Baccarat Rouge.
You will also learn about the history of perfumery, fragrance families, and we will discuss the perfumers and brands behind these fragrances.
From there, you will mix your own fragrance, inspired by Baccarat Rouge, with Ainslie's guidance. This is a beginner-friendly guide, Ainslie will take you through the process and at the end of the class you get to take home your own handmade fragrance.
The classes are held in Ainslie's working perfumer's studio, so you are really thrust into learning about the real world of perfumery and the working perfumer.
Corporate and private workshops are welcome. Please contact your teacher below for more info. A bespoke course can be made for any specific requirements.

Ainslie Walker Scentsmith is a practising perfumer, product developer and olfactory artist and has been teaching her renowned perfume making workshops in Australia for nine years - based in Sydney, she teaches regularly from her Marrickville studio. She also teaches interstate by appointment and in locations such as The Strand Arcade, and various Boutique hotels such as The Old Clare Hotel in the Sydney CBD.
Her classes are recommended by Broadsheet, The Good Weekend and more.
Her clients include Country Road, Disney, Aje, Glasshouse, Circa Home, The Powerhouse, Two Good Co, Tamara Dean, and Lark Perfumery.
