What you'll do
Make and take home 2 perfumes inspired by the two top-selling luxury niche perfumes at this practical introduction to perfumery class in Marrickville.
We will reverse engineer and take a deep dive into both these fragrances.
Over 2 hours, we will introduce you to an array of quality raw materials sourced from around the world, which feature in Baccarat Rouge and Santal 33 - two of the top-selling fragrances in luxury niche perfumery today.
You will hear a little about the history of perfumery, fragrance families, and we will discuss the perfumers, history, and brands behind these fragrances.
From there, you will mix your own fragrances with Ainslie's guidance.
The classes are held in Ainslie's working perfumer's studio, so you are really thrust into learning about the real world of perfumery and the working perfumer.
Corporate and private workshops are welcome. Please contact your teacher below for more info. A bespoke course can be made for any specific requirements.

Ainslie Walker Scentsmith is a practising perfumer, product developer and olfactory artist and has been teaching her renowned perfume making workshops in Australia for nine years - based in Sydney, she teaches regularly from her Marrickville studio. She also teaches interstate by appointment and in locations such as The Strand Arcade, and various Boutique hotels such as The Old Clare Hotel in the Sydney CBD.
Her classes are recommended by Broadsheet, The Good Weekend and more.
Her clients include Country Road, Disney, Aje, Glasshouse, Circa Home, The Powerhouse, Two Good Co, Tamara Dean, and Lark Perfumery.
