Discover the magic of Cyanotype in this intimate Redfern workshop, where you’ll turn your own photographs into striking deep-blue prints. Guided by Parish, you’ll explore one of the earliest photographic printing processes and its expressive potential. Together we’ll cover:
  • A brief history of Cyanotype, from the 1840s to today
  • How to sensitise paper and prepare negatives
  • Exposing your prints using UV light
  • Rinsing, drying, and evaluating your images
  • Creative techniques like montage, layering, and collage
By the end, you’ll leave with a small collection of handmade prints and a deeper connection to your own imagery.

Do I need photography experience?
No — just bring some images you’d like to work with, and we’ll guide you through the whole process.
Can I bring colour images?
Yes — colour images can be converted to black-and-white, and we’ll be happy to help you do that if needed.
How many prints will I make?
Most participants create at least 8 finished Cyanotype prints during the workshop.
