Sewing Class for Beginners

At this fun group sewing workshop in Sydney, you will begin by selecting your favourite fabric from the range on offer, and be guided through the cutting process before jumping on the sewing machine.Your teacher will guide you through setting up the sewing machine, you will learn about the different stitches, when best to use them and how to sew straight lines.Once you've had a practice run on some scrap material, we'll put your new skills to work. You will sew a simple square cushion cover with guidance throughout. Everything is included in this class, including the use of our sewing machines.*It's recommended to book in advance as this class is often sold out weeks ahead*What you'll learn:

• How to measure, mark and cut your fabric for the envelope cushion cover.
• Use different tools for a cleaner finish.
• Learn how to sew in a straight line.
• Learn how to set up a simple sewing machine, wind the bobbin and thread the machine.
• Use different stitches such as straight and zig-zag.
• Hem edges to create a neat finish.
• Learn how to secure raw edges from fraying without needing an expensive overlocker.

Throughout the session, our sewing specialist will share their knowledge and tips with you to help make the process run as smoothly and enjoyable as possible.
