Soft Stone Sculptures is a business that prides itself on success through achievement, creativity of thought and enjoyment in what we are doing. We not only offer an opportunity for people to partake in a very enjoyable and creative craft, but also the opportunity to join in the success of this business.

Since developing the concept and the workshops and introducing this unique artform into Australia in 2002 we have taught thousands of people and have enjoyed the satisfaction that comes from teaching people a new skill. Many of our students claim to be artistically challenged (their words) and to have them create a sculpture they can be proud of in one day is extremely satisfying.

Great teacher, very helpful side kick.

Robert has an inventive and effective way of teaching. He is a hands on teacher and always ready to help and provide wisdom when it looks like you’re in trouble.

I wish I remembered to buy the products so I could keep creating.

Teacher was good.
Venue was great
The way the class was set out didn’t quite flow right to me. It would make more sense to make the medium first then do the instructional talking while it set. Seemed like a little out of sequence, but still an enjoyable class.

Hello Aileen,
Thank you for your review and comments on the class flow. I will check the delivery format and take your suggestion into consideration. As you may recall the current flow is as follows
1. Provide information on the materials to be used and advise (duty of care).
2. Explain what is needed to do this at home and show a finished sample. (Preamble to media preparation)
3. Material mixing and prepare the soft stone blocks. (media preparation) Morning ea break.
4. Talk about design and inspiration selecting a design
5. Work in a prototype to learn techniques and best use of tools.
6. After lunch when blocks are ready the sculpting start. (rest of the afternoon)
7. Finally when the sculpture is finish we talk about transporting the sculpture and pack up
Not sure which one of these items is out of sequence but I will review as you suggest.

Fantastic experience and opportunity to hopefully begin a new hobby with my parents. Workshop was informative both from a creative perspective but also in informing us how to go about creating our own soft stone sculptures from scratch. Instructor found a wonderful balance between providing guidance but also allowing us to follow our own vision for the sculptures.

Such a great experience! Robert was extremely patient and knowledgeable, the content was well prepared yet we were allowed to explore our creativity. Nolly was a great wingman, helping prep and clear and providing wonderful hospitality and delicious lunch. I walked away with a piece that I LOVE ❤️

Teacher was very good. Venue was very good. Everything provided was very good. Patience and helpfulness in buckets. Thoroughly enjoyed by my grandson (who is unable to personally respond because his mobile phone parent-control won't let him open the site).

Was a great experience. Robert is so thorough in his passing on of his knowledge. He wants you to have a great time, to succeed in learning how to create the pieces, and to feel confident in doing it at home yourself. I was quite impressed with myself in that i actually made the stone from scratch and then sculpted it when it was set. Amazing.

Everything necessary was provided with good information and guidance. The teacher was very friendly and easy to get along with and helped us think about what we wanted to achieve and how to go about it. He was clearly well experienced. The class was interesting, fun and hands-on with a great piece of art to go home with. An enjoyable experience for first time sculpting.
