Learn the almost forgotten art of stained and leaded glass in a private or public setting with Alex, owner of Woffel Glass in Sydney!
Alex loves passing on knowledge in the hopes of inspiring other people to get motivated to create, have fun and learn a new skill as well as contribute to a not so thriving art form. He personally thinks it is really important to breathe life into the art of stained and leaded glass as well as hopefully secure the longevity of it.
The workshop will begin with choosing one of the designs, then the next step (possibly the most difficult, choosing your glass). Alex will then go through all the materials and tools needed to manufacture a piece as well as a couple of safety methods.
Then the class will continue by first cutting your glass to fit your designs, grinding, leading, and then finally soldering and polishing your piece before taking it home with you.
Alex will also give you the option to hang a chain on your finished product so you can easily hang it on your wall or over your window.
